To parents and students: I hope you are all taking good care during these upcoming weeks of social distancing due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Linked below you will find the Ministry of Education's link for Continuity of Learning while we wait for further instructions. www.ontario.ca/page/learn-at-home I have also updated a new French reading collection on GET EPIC- linked under FRENCH RESOURCES (tab on left column) Please see the new French poem and lexique for end of March. Students can: Read aloud, identify the featured sound and spelling, practice writing words in sentences, writing an extra verse of the poem Your child is familiar with this format for writing a summary of a book he or she has read in French. Feel free to print or draw out this page for extra practice of Reading Comprehension. Friday March 13th, 2020
Dear Parents & Guardians, Due to the Covid-19 restriction, school will not be in session during the 2 weeks following March Break. We will resume classes on Monday April 6th, at which time the red Communities in Ontario research folder will be due (not on March 25th). Please check in on my website at: josefikk.weebly.com for any updates. Students can continue to work on: -DreamBox -social studies research folder -reading log in both French and English -A summary sheet for French reading is posted on my website for practice with retells Have a safe and restful 3 weeks off, K. Josefik **UPDATE** Red research folder is due on April 6th, 2020. Should we be learning from home for an extended period of time, the folder should still be completed by the due date, as we will move on to the next steps of the project either from home or school. We have practiced accessing a Halton approved database at school to look for information about communities in Ontario. A science test will take place on Wednesday February 12th. Review the important scientific vocabulary below and see a blank copy of review questions to be completed in class during the week of Feb 3rd. See our new poem for January, focusing on the sound `gn`. Please have your child read this poem aloud to you, and practice making riddles with the vocabulary words, using the phrase Qui suis-je?
